How do Police Services in Ontario Classify and Respond to Mental Health Crisis Calls?
|Description:||In 2010 there was a significant increase in calls to Peterborough Police that were identified as mental health calls. Numbers have remained at this elevated level ever since. The aim of this research is to find out if this is a common experience across Police services in Ontario and to understand how other Police services classify, respond and manage mental health call. This would include looking at how calls get identified by dispatchers and then interpreted by responding officers.|
