Mapping of Historical Workplace Toxins

Proj. #:4775
Description: The host has been interviewing people who worked at the Peterborough General Electric plant in order to establish a collective ‘map’ of where and when workers were exposed to carcinogenic toxins. Volunteers have found people to interview, have conducted the interviews, and transcribed the interviews. Volunteers have also compiled the information from the interviews into a list of toxins in use at various times as well as a ‘map’ of where in the plant they were used. The purpose of the project is to transfer the mapped information, as well as other information from the interviews, to a digital format using GIS.
